Pentest People Achieves the Investors in People’s ‘We Invest in People’ Accreditation

We’re proud to announce that Pentest People has achieved the Investors in People We Invest in People Accreditation!

It is with great pride that we’ve achieved the three-year We invest in people, standard accreditation from Investors in People. The accreditation recognises our continued work in the development and support of our team based in the company’s Leeds and Cheltenham offices.

What Does The Investors in People ‘We Invest in People’ Mean to Pentest People?

The We invest in people framework helps organisations understand their performance at leading, supporting and improving individuals and teams, plus the company’s culture strategy. It compares its principles and practices against other organisations in the industry and sector globally, specifically cybersecurity for Pentest People.

Our Co-Founder, Andrew Mason, commented on the accreditation; “The well-being and support of staff at Pentest People has always been the number one priority. From the early days of my career, I understood the value of making sure a team feel appreciated at work - it is this that cultivates a respectful and thriving culture for a business to succeed.

The success of Pentest People is down to the people that work for the company and this accreditation demonstrates our continued commitment to developing the team and making the changes needed to guarantee our work environment and culture is the best out there.”

Growing Our Expert Team

Our rapid growth has seen the team expand to over 100 people across our two offices located at the Coachworks, Leeds and close to Government Communications Headquarters’ (GCHQ’s) cybersecurity hub in Cheltenham. We’re also looking to further grow the consultancy side of the business, building greater Incident Response, CHECK and Cyber Essentials teams.

Not only are we dedicated to supporting our current team, but we’re also dedicated to developing new talent through our successful scheme that has seen us take on seven apprentices and graduates since its launch in 2018 to support local jobseekers to gain employment in cybersecurity. To date, Pentest People has taken 14 former apprentices and graduates into full-time employment and currently has a total of 19 apprentices and graduates in training.

Encouraging Team Spirit

Like many, Pentest People faced the challenge of getting people back into the office post-pandemic and understood how important it was for the team’s mental health to reintroduce the office environment. To encourage the team back into the office, we organise regular work socials to mix with other departments outside of work with events such as Chowdown and buy-in lunches for the team. There is also a great culture of encouragement with gym memberships available for employees to help physical health as well as mental health.

What Investors in People Say

Paul Devoy, CEO of Investors in People, said: “We’d like to congratulate Pentest People. Being accredited with We invest in people is a remarkable effort for any organisation, and places Pentest People in fine company with a host of organisations that understand the value of people.”

Final Word From Us

At Pentest People, we work hard to value the health and well being of our staff by offering flexible working, employee socials, free gym memberships and promoting mental health awareness by having mental health trained first aiders in the workplace.

Looking to the future, we are committed to organically grow the businesses while remaining a privately owned company. This means we can maintain our high level of customer satisfaction and most importantly, continue to nurture young talent, offering apprenticeships/jobs and educate the community on cybersecurity to make sure society is safe.
